The BIGGEST issue I see when it comes to Assessment preparation (all ages).

I see huge issues when it comes to assessment preparation.

But here is the BIGGEST issue that I see.

A total lack of belief that preparation is even necessary.

The issue is this. These top schools will all tell you not to prepare your children.

They will all tell you that preparation is absolutely not needed.

And 80% of parents will follow this instruction and they will actually actively make the decision to not prepare their children.

As in, they will make the decision that because they already go to school, that that is in fact enough when it comes to preparation.

That doesn’t even scratch the surface.

It really does not matter which school your child goes to.

I’ve worked with children who have been attending top schools like Eaton House Belgravia and Wetherby to name two schools for you. Both of these children from the two specific schools I named worked very hard with myself and with their parents to prepare for the assessments that we were praparing for.

Nothing wrong with these schools by the way but a school alone can’t prepare a child for an entrance exam at a top, elite school like Westminster and St. Paul’s for example.

And if you believe that they can, unfortunately, you will most likely be disappointed. And you will most likely blame the school! Not the fault of the school - sorry!

I adore assessment preparation - obviously. That’s why it is something that I live and breathe every single day. But I have a huge frustration when it comes to assessment prep (all ages). And here it is for you.

I’m speaking about myself but I know all of my teachers feel the same frustrations.

I put so much work into all of my students. It takes hundreds of hours of my time to prepare my students. Yes, I get paid - sure. 90% of my clients value what I do. They truly value what we all do here at CMT. But what frustrates me the most is that sometimes I get the impression that certain parents think that their kid would have passed anyway - even without my support.

Which is total garbage by the way. And totally would not have been the case! But obviously there is no way for me to neither prove that nor disprove that!

But I accept it.

Some parents will feel this way.

And they are delusional.

And by the way… what goes around comes around. I am a firm believer of this. And the way you treat someone will be exactly how you will be treated further down the line.

If a child passes an assessment (at any age) at a top school, it is because they were prepared on a 1:1 basis either by a teacher or by their parents. What the school does is just a fraction of the prep needed. See it as the cherry on top if you like.
