What will come in the 4+ Assessments at x school is not the question you should be asking.
/I can send you a link to read this in your own time if you really want this question answered.
I’ve noticed that I’ve been having this question on repeat.
Parents want to know what exactly will come up and whilst I do have this information and I can give them a list of things that will come up - it is simply not helpful.
It is actually very overwhelming for these parents to receive list of the 100+ things that will come up in the 4+ assessments.
What will you then even do with this information?
Sit down and plan a full 12 months of curriculum which fyi is what is needed to prepare for the 4+ at the top schools?
Doubtful.
The questions you should be asking me could range from the following:
Which three things can I do this week to help my child to make progress in a certain area of learning eg. maths or reading?
How can I support my child with their confidence?
What can I do to support my child with leaving my side calmly and peacefully?
These are high quality questions.
I remember going to the Westminster 4+ Open even with two of my dear clients (I was looking at this school for my son who was 2 at the time). Several parents asked this question to the head.
Let’s just professionally say that she was not impressed with this question and let’s just say the question was not really, fully answered.
There are no short cuts to 4+ assessment preparation (no good ones anyway!).
And why would you want to take a shortcut anyway? You want to send your child to a 30k + a year school? Invest in high quality assessment preparation for them.
That is all.
