What is needed for my child to pass their 4+ assessments?
/A lot is needed depending on the school/s you are targeting.
Obviously a lot more is needed for the likes of Westminster, Habs (boys and girls), NLCS and South Hampstead (among other schools).
I’m going to share something very important with you.
I don’t do well with the following:
Pressure.
Rushed and frantic learning.
Negativity when it comes to learning.
Pushing a child to learn when they don’t want to.
Because you see, we are working with very young children here. And everything that I do comes only from love and affection.
For years, I have been saying that 4+ assessment preparation takes one full year (4 terms) of assessment preparation. So if you’ve left it to the last minute, that’s on you and not on me. And also, please keep the above emotions as far away from me as possible.
Pressure doesn’t work when it comes to learning (at any age). Children (and adults) learn best when they feel calm and relaxed. When they see that those teaching them are calm and relaxed. Children (and most adults) don’t learn well with pressure. You cannot force learning down a child’s throat. It does not work that way. I’ve never once pressurised my son into learning. And I’ve never once done it with the hundreds of students we support each year.
Rushed and frantic learning is something that I do not want to see.
Learning is calm, relaxed and happy.
Never push a child to do what they don’t want to do. They have to want to do it. Careful - I’m not saying that we don’t encourage children to do things that they don’t want to do. Of course we do. But there’s a way to do it and there’s a way not to do it.
4+ assessment preparation needs 4 full terms of assessment preparation tailored towards your schools of choice.
That’s all I have left to say on the matter.
My Intensive 3 month programme will close on August 31st 2026.
