Learning isn't a failure just because it isn't instantaneous!
/That’s just not how child development works.
You don’t just click your fingers and expect your child to just ‘get it’.
But as soon as parents see that their children are not ‘getting it’, what will the majority of them do?
They will stop.
They will think things like…
‘What’s even the point?’
‘He/she will learn that at nursery anyway!’
‘Why bother?’
And it’s not the right way of thinking, in my opinion.
The work that you will do with your child on a one to one basis in the early years is the most important work that you will ever do.
Most people will wildly ignore this.
Teaching a new concept like phonics is not something that will come ‘naturally’ to any child. It will take a lot of work. Most people are not interested in putting in the work.
It takes focus. It takes practise. It takes repetition. It takes effort!
It took my son 2 years to learn all his phase 2 and 3 single sounds. So what? Nothing went wrong. In fact, by the age of three my son was able to read!
Why?
Because I believed in him.
Because I trusted in my process.
Because I supported him to be able to read.
In this microwave mentality world that we are living in, parents want results to be quick!
And that’s not how it works.
Anything amazing that I’ve ever created in my life has taken…TIME.
And that’s exactly why my programme for 4+ Assessment prep is a 12 month programme and not a one month programme!
