What you honestly need to know about the Guildford High 4+ Assessments.

Guildford High will have high expectations of your daughter at 4+ even though they write that their assessments are ‘low key’. What does that even mean anyway?

Guildford High say that they do not ‘expect girls to be able to read and write’ when they go to their 4+ Assessment. However, I will tell you that all of our girls who have historically passed this 4+ Assessment have been able to read and write.

Guildford High tell you that they will be assessing:

language

number

manipulative skills

cognitive skills

social interaction

They will be assessing far more than just these 5 things!

Guildford High call their assessments ‘Readiness Assessments’ - basically how ready your daughter is to start at their school.

One of the earliest girls’ assessments, you will want to start preparing your daughter for this assessment at least 12 months before. So basically the October of the year before the Assessment.

Parents will argue with me that they shouldn’t prepare their daughter for this assessment. That’s for them to decide.

Parents will argue with me that the school have told them not to prepare so why should they? That’s for them to decide.

Parents will argue with me that the nursery their daughter goes to is more than enough and that they don’t need to do anything extra. That’s up to them to decide. Let’s see how many of our girls will pass this year! And I will let you know that they have all had at least 12 months of assessment prep for GHS!
