Habs’ girls and NLCS 4+ Assessment – A true story
/Parisa contacted me in October last year. Her daughter was sitting her 4+ at Habs and NLCS. She initially booked a Mock Assessment with me. Her daughter, Sabeena was not ready for the Habs’ girls 4+ Assessment which was coming up in a few weeks following the Mock Assessment.
You see, she was a lovely, bright and switched on girl but she was unable to follow instructions as well as was needed for her to pass her 4+ Assessment at Habs. She had a very strong character (which is an amazing thing of course) and in the Mock assessment, she was telling me what to do! Listening wasn’t good (as good as it needed to be for her assessment) during the story time and following instructions needed a lot of work.
Her phonics were very strong but they could have been better. Maths was very strong. Physically she was very strong. Cutting was good but she lost interest halfway through and ripped the paper.
Her parents were both incredibly receptive of my feedback and they did wish they’d started sooner. We didn’t have time to begin tuition for Habs and Parisa’s daughter was not offered a place. In fact, she did not pass the first round. That’s when her mother got super serious. She signed up to my package of lessons and joined all of my NLCS intensive courses. She was fully determined to get her in!
With focus, dedication and commitment, Sabeena was indeed offered a place to study at NLCS and she started there a couple weeks ago! She adored our lessons together and I adored working with her and her mother.
You have to be willing to put in the work and the effort if you would like to have any sort of chance of passing the 4+ at either of these schools.
