You don't have a 4+ assessment prep problem, you have an understanding problem.
/4+ assessment preparation isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing the schools what they want to see.
4+ assessment preparation isn’t about fairness. More than likely it will be a very unfair process.
4+ assessment preparation isn’t about sparing your feelings. Your feeling will not be spared.
If your child isn’t ready for their 4+ assessment - don’t send them in to one. ‘Hoping for the best’ is not a 4+ assessment preparation strategy.
If your child is unable to answer questions to at least a level 3 standard - don’t send them in. ‘Answer as best you can’ is not a 4+ assessment preparation strategy.
You’re hoping that the several hours of assessment prep that you did with your child will lead to success - well, it won’t.
Our successful students spend at least 30 minutes a day supporting their children with their learning (and yes- this is on top of nursery). Nursery to me really doesn’t count. I’ve taught in top nurseries. Without the highest quality assessment prep outside of nursery, you will not have the success that you imagine that you will have.
You see, the problem I’m seeing and experiencing currently with new clients that I’m speaking with or potential new clients interested in my services is that they really do not have an assessment problem. What they have, is an understanding problem. And if they are not willing to understand, it will all backfire.
If you’re willing to learn and be ‘teachable’, you will have success in so many more ways than you ever could have imagined - just as your child will if they are able to master the same.
